Registered at the Brussels Bar since 1994, Laurent is recognized as a major expert in VAT in Belgium. Specialized lawyer with over 30 years of experience, he founded JusT.VAT in January 2026 with his partner since 2014, Mrs. Céline Joly.
Former assistant at the Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve (UCL), VAT professor at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) since 2010 and at the Higher School of Tax Sciences (ICHEC-ESSF) since 2012, Laurent has also been teaching at the Belgian Royal Chamber of Accountants of Brussels since 1999. He is the author of books, numerous publications and very regularly speaks at conferences.
Former Treasurer of the Brussels Bar (2014-2017) and former administrator-Treasurer of OBFG (Avocats.be) from 2018 to 2025, he chaired the anti-money laundering unit for French-speaking Belgian lawyers and notably negotiated the VAT status of lawyers with the central administration in 2013.
Laurent supports many chartered accountants and advises a diverse clientele: public institutions, professional associations, large groups, SMEs and non-profits. His expertise covers consulting, audit, VAT optimization as well as administrative and judicial litigation. He practices in French, Dutch and English.
Lawyer for almost 20 years, Céline specializes in VAT litigation and complex tax operations. Graduate in law from UNamur and UCLouvain, she also holds a Master in Tax Law (ESSF, 2016) and a degree in political science.
Trained in cassation techniques for 4 years (2019-2023), Céline brings to the firm a rigorous legal approach and sharp expertise in judicial procedures.
She joined Laurent in August 2014 to develop their VAT department. Together, they decided to create an ultra-specialized firm in indirect taxes: JusT.vat, founded in January 2026.

Lawyer at the Brussels Bar since 2022, Maximilien specializes in taxation with particular expertise in VAT, customs and excise duties. He advises and defends his clients in all aspects of indirect taxation.
Graduate in civil and criminal law from ULB, he completed his training with a specialized master's degree in tax law at the same university.
Maximilien joined the firm in 2022 and Laurent and Céline's team in 2024. He gives conferences and writes articles in his field of expertise.
