VAT Audit and Tax Compliance

Assess your tax compliance and identify optimization opportunities

Why conduct a VAT audit?

A VAT audit by JusT.VAT aims to assess the level of tax compliance, particularly VAT, of an organization and identify potential risks and solutions, as well as optimization or simplification opportunities.

The audit can also serve as prevention before a future VAT audit and its potential negative consequences. In this regard, JusT.VAT assists its clients, for example, in implementing voluntary VAT regularization (which will avoid VAT penalties), or an individual agreement with the local administration (for example to correct a past situation that still persists today).

VAT Audit Methodology

The standard VAT audit process can be presented in 3 stages:

1

Information collection and business understanding

JusT.VAT works based on a detailed questionnaire and analysis of VAT information from previous periods collected from the client (VAT returns, listings, input and output invoices, etc.).

A meeting is then organized with the client to ensure proper understanding of their past, current and future operations. This phase requires close collaboration between JusT.VAT and its client.

2

VAT analysis and evaluation report

Based on all the information collected, JusT.VAT begins in-depth VAT analysis work on the client's transactions, both input and output.

This phase concludes with the preparation of a synthetic written report (or more comprehensive according to the client's wishes) that will be delivered to the client.

3

Evaluation and development in consultation with the client

Following delivery of the written report, a meeting is organized during which identified risks will be presented, as well as solutions to address them, but also potential VAT opportunities. These findings, as well as recommendations and possible corrective actions, will then be discussed in detail with the client.

This final phase will define concrete actions to implement to optimize the client's VAT situation.
